Italy is a democratic republic located in southern Europe. The country encompasses a boot-shaped peninsula and two largest Mediterranean islands – Sardinia and Sicily. Additionally, the territory includes numerous smaller islands, the most notable being Capri.

The state borders the Alps mountain range in the north, where it borders four countries: France, Switzerland, Austria and Slovenia. Italy’s coastline reaches up to 7,600 kilometers, making the country perfect for beach-loving travelers.

Climate and Weather

Italy’s climate is mostly Mediterranean, characterized by warm summers and cold winters. In Sicily the climate is subtropical, so it is even warmer there.
